About Us
CampusAthletes.com is a new knowledge sharing site that allows former and current athletes to demonstrate what they have learned on and off the field. You must be enrolled as a student at any USA or Canadian college or university to register as a CampusAthletes contributor.
We work with former and current athletes, not pro writers. You need not have superb writing skills to share the sports fundamentals you have learned on the field. Our Online form allows you a simple way to publish a step-by-step "How-to" on CampusAthletes.com.
Do your best, adding as much detail as you can. Our staff will work with you on a second draft, but you need to create the first draft without our help. You can get help from any friend or have someone else write it for you, but these must be considered "your words" because you will be listed as the source for this what you submit. (The text you submit must be original and must not be copied from other websites.) You use our online interview form to add a How-to. Just click "Select a Topic" after logging into (or registering on) CampusAthletes.com
Our desire is to allow students to build a following among people who find their training tips useful. "How-tos" you add to this site might be used during the off-season by a high school student preparing to try out for a team in the fall. Or your How-to might be used by a current athlete seeking to compare his technique.
We have identified sports training topics popular with new athletes. You have a choice of topics from which you can choose, based on your personal expertise and comfortability. Every topic's title begins with "How to..." and must be described in sequential steps.
An easy to use online form allows you to supply our editors with a step-by-step outline for your "How-to" - which our editors use to select college students.
What is important to CampusAthletes.com?
Offering sports training topics that are useful to aspiring athletes is important to us. We like How-tos that contain ample details, and mentions of brand names and products, equipment and gear needed. We want a student to leave our site, thinking "I learned a lot from CampusAthletes.com and will tell my friends to check out the site."
Every How-to added to the site is reviewed by a human editor. If our editor thinks your How-to is missing details or is not clearly written he or she will send you an email with suggestions on how you can improve your How-to.
If we like the quality of a How-to you add, we might invite you to a professional video shoot at which you will demonstrate your How-to on camera. A minimum of four How-to's must be added by a student before he or she can be invited to a video shoot. We create multiple videos of How-to's will at a single video shoot. We do not invite students who have added less than four How-to's.
